At the TSO, there are so many great stories to tell, and we’re looking for someone who loves finding the best way to tell them. You’re social-media obsessed, think video-first and know how to turn campaigns, concerts and behind-the-scenes moments into content made for each channel. You’re also a builder—someone who likes creating smart workflows, testing ideas, watching what works, and continually tweaking and improving.

The Role

The Social Media and Digital Content Coordinator supports the day-to-day delivery of the TSO’s social media and digital storytelling, ensuring approved content is published accurately, on time, and optimized for each channel.
 
The role adapts campaign assets, creates and edits quick-turn content, and maintains effective workflows and reporting—helping the Communications team build a proactive, consistent social presence that grows audience engagement, supports attendance, and strengthens the TSO’s brand and reputation.


What you’ll do

  • Proactively identifies and pitches original story ideas, recurring content series and timely platform opportunities; maintains a forward-looking pipeline of social content.
  • Publishes and schedules approved content across the TSO's current and emerging social channels, completing final quality checks on copy, links, tags, rights, accessibility, and platform specifications.
  • Maintains the social editorial calendar and Asana workflow, translating briefings into tasks and workbacks, securing required assets and approvals, and communicating status and blockers proactively.
  • Adapts campaign assets into channel-specific posts and storylines, writing platform-appropriate copy and developing storyboards, shot lists, and content plans.
  • Captures and independently edits quick-turn social content, including short-form video, photography, graphics, Stories, Reels, and TikTok videos, using available in-house tools and budgets.
  • Monitors social channels and community activity, responds within established guidelines, flags sensitive issues, and identifies timely user-generated content, trends, and storytelling opportunities.
  • Supports and coordinates social deliverables with agencies, creators, influencers, and community partners for approved activations, including briefs, assets, schedules, approvals, and amplification.
  • Tracks key performance indicators and prepares regular channel reports and campaign recaps, highlighting results, lessons, and recommendations to improve future content.
  • Confirms and documents required artist, music, photo, video, partner and location permissions and usage rights before publication.
  • Collaborates across departments to source stories and builds reusable templates, asset libraries, workflow improvements, and process documentation that help the team work efficiently.
  • Owns the day-to-day publishing and execution workflow for approved social content and provides hands-on digital content support to the Communications team. This position has no direct reports.
  • Coordinates requests across departments and with external contributors, keeping work moving through briefing, production, review, approval, publishing, and reporting.
  • Contributes creative ideas and helps build repeatable processes that improve the consistency, speed, and quality of the TSO's social media work.
  • Comfortable interviewing musicians, guest artists, audiences and partners, and appearing on camera occasionally where appropriate.

What you’ll bring

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience creating and publishing social or digital content for an organization or brand, preferably in the arts, entertainment, or cultural sector.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating social-first storytelling, short-form video editing, visual composition, and copywriting.
  • Proficiency with video and image editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, or equivalent, with the ability to deliver polished quick-turn assets independently.
  • Working knowledge of current practices for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube, including platform specifications, community management, and social accessibility.
  • Experience with content scheduling, channel management, analytics, and reporting tools, with the ability to interpret performance data and identify practical improvements.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including experience working in Asana or a similar platform and managing concurrent deadlines and approvals.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $50,000–$60,000 CAD.
Benefits: 100% company paid benefits including Telus-Health Employee Family Assistance program (provided after successful completion of the first three (3) months of employment); company-paid pension contributions provided after the completion of one year of employment; 15 days vacation prorated during the first year, complimentary tickets to TSO concerts and a hybrid work environment.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

  • Works in a hybrid environment, with time spent remotely, in the office, and on location for content capture.
  • Takes part in the Communications team's regular concert and event duty rotation during the September to June season, including evening and weekend work as assigned to capture, edit, or publish content and support other communications duties.
  • Content capture may take place in concert halls, rehearsal spaces, offices, and other event locations.
 

Compensation

$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
